Center on Media, Crime and Justice Webinar: Understanding Bail Reform in NY

On September 16, 2020, DCJ Policy Director Erica Bond joined Senator Michael Gianaris (Deputy Majority Leader, New York State Senate), Insha Rahman (Vera Institute) and Krystal Rodriguez (Center for Court Innovation) on a panel moderated by Amy Bach (Measures for Justice) to discuss New York State bail reforms passed in 2019 and as well as related amendments passed in 2020. Ms. Bond presented key findings from DCJ’s report estimating how such reforms might reshape pretrial release practices based on 2018 criminal court cases in New York City.
