Jaeok Kim

Post-Doctoral Fellow

Jaeok Kim is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Research Network on Misdemeanor Justice at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She received a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from University at Albany, SUNY in 2016. Her dissertation measures the extent of unexplained racial disparity in case processing and examines racial differences in the accumulation of criminal justice career using both administrative and self-reported datasets. Prior to joining the Research Network on Misdemeanor Justice, she worked for the Office of Justice Research and Performance (OJRP) at the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) as a graduate intern. Areas of her research interest include criminal justice career, racial disparity, criminal justice policy, crime trend, and measurement error
